The weekend over at Genting Highland was pretty relaxing other than the dramatic ending. Took off as early as 6am for a 6 hour coach trip to the Highland. Got my sweet treats ready in my backpack for my motion sickness problem and my headphones and note 8.0 too (I cannot survive a ride without music). And obviously, with the queen for company. Slept through half of the journey while the rest was me bobbing my head to my music. The ride got more interesting as we ascended the mountain (or hill). It started to get chilly and the buildings on top of the mountain couldn't be seen as it was covered with mist. I swear it was beautiful, every turn as we ascended.

Arrived at the hotel slightly after 12pm and to my surprise, it was humongous. (Though I should have expected it since it was one of the world's largest hotel.) Queued up in line for our room key and then proceeded to our room.

The hotel room wasn't a huge one though I didn't expect it to be either. (It being a groupon voucher) But it wasn't that horrible too. In fact, I think it was kinda perfect. I don't have a clear shot of my hotel room but this was my best one. (Ignore the queen in the photo.)

Day 1.
Took a rest, and we decided to have our lunch at the nearest eatery- Nyonya Cuisine. I think I tasted the best Rendang dish here- spicy and the gravy was thick, perfect for my tastebuds. (Couldn't be compared to the queen's cooking of course.) Afterwhich, we decided to explore the First World Plaza and saw the cutest thing ever- a dancing (shuffling) dinosaur. I swear the dinosaur made my day. We then window shopped our day away and I managed to get things for the brother and the man. Took the skyway too, and the queen got scared at the start of the ride that she grabbed my hand. #mycutemother Had Baskin Robbins then headed back to our hotel room.

Day 2.
Woke up as early as 7.30am but we hanged in our room for a little bit before heading out for breakfast at 10am. Ate at the same eatery, Nyonya Cuisine and had their breakfast set of Fried Thai Mee Siam with half-boiled eggs and hot coffee. (I drank a lot of coffee there cause the weather was really too cold.) Genting being Genting and famous for its strawberry farm, I decided to drag the queen there. Took the skyway down the mountain/hill and hailed a cab that took us there (because the shuttle bus was nowhere to be seen). (5 min ride cost RM10 mind you.)

The driver introduced us to a chocolate gallery shop before driving down to the farm. (I spent quite a sum on chocolates because I have so much love for it.)

Once there, we walked around a little while and stumbled upon a lavender garden (RM3 for entry). I am NOT a flower type of girl (in fact, the smell makes me sneeze and I do not find it lovely at all). But I have to admit, the flowers were beautiful- red, white and yellow rose, lavender and dandelions (I think?). There was a small shop right beside the entrance and I bought 2 lavender cologne spray for my girls. (Unlike me, they love flowers and perfumes and such sweet-smelling stuff.) Headed back to the strawberry farm and got our strawberries before heading back. (This place is a great place to shop for souvenirs so do visit.)

Returned to our hotel rooms to place our stuff and then headed back to the Plaza for Snow World. I was pretty excited at this point cause I thought it was gonna be fun, but it wasn't. Spent RM30 on entrance fee just to be greeted by... nothing. Handphones and cameras weren't allowed so no photos. There were cameramen around to take photos but considering the amount of money we had left in our pockets.. we decided to give it a pass. Headed back to our rooms after a 30 mins of waste of time. Then had dinner and spent our night watching Malay dramas.

Day 3.
Woke up late (at least for me) and then stayed in our room for breakfast and watched Fizo Omar's wedding on TV. Packed the rest of our stuff and checked out at 12pm. Rested at their mini garden for a while (and camwhored) before heading to the bus station. And that is when everything went ...downhill.

The story of how the queen and I got stuck at Genting for at least 3 hours more than we should begins...
We were told by the guide on our journey here that the bus were to arrive at 12.45pm (we were prompt we made it at 12.30pm) and we waited. The ticket given to us held our seat no for our journey there and naturally I thought we would take the same bus back. Well, I thought wrong. (The thing is we had to check in at the counter and were to be given our new bus no and our new seat no.) Me being me, I was clueless.
And I only realised it too late as the last bus just left. The only way was to cab down as the bus will be making a pit stop. But we had to pay RM50 and we were... broke. At this point the <insert vulgar word> nyonya was getting on my nerve cause she kept raising her voice and making a huge scene (everyone was already staring) pressurising me about the bus not being able to wait for me and my mother. And I shouted back to her to get her damn bus to move off. Then we stood there not knowing what to do. So I suggested that we extended the night and took the bus back the next morning, Mum agreed. Called DBS to approve our overseas transaction till midnight and we headed to the nearest public bank ATM to withdraw. (We could have taken our coach if the <insert vulgar word> nyonya had given me more time but whatever.) To our luck, the same hotel we stayed in before was fully booked. I then made several calls to the nearest hotels down the mountain but all the rooms were too costly for a night. Being desperate, I suggested that we cab to JB Custom (6 hour trip so obviously it was expensive), but it cost RM600 and we only had RM400 (and furthermore  it wasn't feasible to waste money just on cab). The cabby then suggested that he drove us to Bandar Tasik Selatan near KL (it costs us RM100 for a 2 hour trip) and we could try our luck getting a bus back to Singapore. To cut matters short, we arrived at 7.15pm and were in luck and caught the 7.30pm bus back to Singapore. (it costs RM43 per person and the bus was much more comfortable than our coach.)

We arrived in Singapore at exactly 12 midnight. Alhamdulilah.

That is the story of my crazy 3D2N holiday with the queen. And now the man forbids me from going on a holiday without him.
