mother's day and a little reminisce

Found a new halal restaurant located at IMM and decided to bring the queen over to taste some zi char dishes and also to celebrate mother's day.
Met both the queen and the man after work at Jurong East and took the shuttle bus over to IMM.
Being there at IMM reminded me of the time I used to head there every weekend or some weekdays for work. Rushing for shuttle bus and the crazy amount of people trying to get on the bus. Well, the good thing was the bus used to be bigger thus more people could fit in. Now... they use a mini one. The ones private housing usually use, and it's in a shape of a cat? Right. The shops are really different too. It used to be really boring and mostly I think people frequented the area during the weekend because of Giant (humongous Giant if I should add) and some events get held at the roof of the building. And there used to be a lot of sale items too. Cheaper things are every Singaporean's favourite right? Even more for me.
And the saddest thing was... the Delifrance I used to work at was no longer around. A year plus of service there meeting all sorts of annoying and nice people. (Some being my regular customers who will always ask for me when I don't work in the morning.) and of course my ex colleagues. It was also a place I met my best sister, Manisah. I almost became Assistant Manager too. (I was offered the position anyway.) But me dealing with people for a few more years of my life? No thanks. I can offer good customer service, but I'm not a people person.
My amazing people. (I still have that huge card.)

Anyway, I was pretty excited for the first ci zhar meal in my life. Expected a crowd since it was after working hours but the place was pretty empty. Ordered 3 dishes for the man and me to share, while the queen had mee hoon. There was hotpot too (steamboat kinda thing) but we saw it late so we saved it for another day.
Black pepper beef, sambal sotong and tom yam soup. The black pepper beef was the best btw.
Had a long chat between and after meal and then the queen wanted to buy some grocery and we headed to Giant. And I got 2 tubs of Ben & Jerry out of it. Hehe.
Thank you love for being amazing, talking and taking care of the queen and not being as awkward as me when I'm with your parents. (Future son in law katekn). Thank you for the dinner and grocery stuff afterwards too.
Streats Hongkong cafe next maybe?
I love you.
xx.
